Backups Are Not a Recovery Plan

Almost everyone has backups of some kind. Far fewer have ever tested whether they can actually restore from them under pressure, on a bad day, with the clock running. That gap is exactly where ransomware and hardware failures turn into real damage.

What a real plan covers

A recovery plan answers concrete questions: how much data can we afford to lose, how quickly must we be back, where do restores run if the building is offline, and who does what. We design backups around those answers and then test the restore on a schedule, because an untested backup is only a hope.
